Samsung’s mobile future gets leaked: Lots of new phones, and HD displays

Samsung doesn’t appear to be resting on its laurels - as the Samsung Galaxy S2 wows the critics and they prepare several iterations for the US, several Italian sites appear to have got their hands on Sammy’s plans for mobile in 2011 and 2012.

It’s motley crew of screen-sizes and operating systems, covering Android, Windows Phone 7 and Sammy’s own Bada. It’s big in France, you know.

Highlights include the GT-I9210 (W48). Running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) is a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display, supporting 4G networks alongside GPRS, EDGE and UMTS.

That means it should work pretty much everywhere. Expect 16GB of expandable memory, an 8-megapixel camera with flash and a front-facing 2-megapixel camera. All that stuff is to be powered by a whopping 1750mAh battery.

Another big gun, the GT-I9220 (W43) has a slightly smaller 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display will run at high definition; 1280x720 pixels. Powering it, there’s said to be a 1.4 Ghz dual-core processor and an 8-megapixel camera.

Samsung are already planning their first entry into the world of Android Ice Cream Sandwich - the future of Android. The GT-I9250 (W48) will have a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display- again running at the high-definition heights of 1280x720 pixels.

Despite all the litigation, Sammy are still looking to bring a new 7-inch tablet sequel; the P6200 (W44).

With a whopping 7-inch Super AMOLED screen, 1024x600, a 3-megapixel camera on the back and a 2-megapixel offering at the front. The P6210 (W44) ,comes with similar specs but will be WiFi-only.

On Samsung’s own Bada 2.0 system, two new phones have been outlined; the GT-S5380 (W47) with a 3.2-inch display, and 2-megapixel camera, the GT-S8600 (W47) with 4-inch Super AMOLED display, and 5-megapixel camera. Finally, there’s the next iteration of Samsung’s always classy Wave series, the GT-S7250 Wave M. The leak suggests it’ll have a HVGA 3.5-inch display and NFC.

Samnmy’s latest Windows Phone 7 handset, tagged as the GT-i8350 Omnia W, has an October release date, and arrive with a 1GHz processor, 3.7-inch display, and 5-megapixel camera.

Samsung are rumoured to be working on a new entry-level phone; Android 2.2 (Froyo) with a 2.8-inch display paired with a Qwerty keyboard, is the GT-B5510 (W41) the Galaxy Pro... Plus?

Next, another Android phone, this time minus the keyboard, but with a larger 3-inch display, 2-megapixel camera and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Currently codenamed the GT-S5360 (W42), at 240x320 it may not have the greatest display, but we can expect it to sell for a song.

With a slightly increased resolution, and again running the very latest version of Android, the GT-S5610 (W42) packs a 5-megapixel snapper and will support the zippy data speeds of HSDPA networks.

The GT-I8150 (W40) bumps up the specs to a 3.7-inch display with 480 x 800 pixels, 4GB of internal memory, a single-core 1.4GHz processor, and a 5 megapixel camera capable of high-definition recording.

All those codenames got your head spinning? Wait until Samsung 'galaxify' them; our heads may explode trying to keep track of them all. Samsung has commented on similar leaked specs earlier this month.

Update: Samsung has already commented on the leak: “Some media have been reporting that Samsung is preparing to launch nine new smartphones and two new tablet devices. While Samsung is continuously working on new devices for our customers, the details being cited are not accurate in this case.

"We appreciate the interest in our upcoming mobile devices and will share more information once its available.”
